Shinrihama Seaside Park – FREE
Hop over to Kume Island by plane (30 minutes from Naha or 150 minutes from Tokyo). Kume Island with its white sandbar and turquoise waters was said to be especially beautiful among the Ryukyu (Okinawa) islands during the dynastic era of the Ryukyu Kingdom. This free campsite offers stellar sunset views on this special island.

Izena Beach – FREE
This year-round free campsite is located on the white sandy shores of Izena Beach on Izena Island. The nearby Futamigaura Beach is said to be one of Japan’s top 100 beaches. There are showers and bathrooms at Nakada Port, which is a ten-minute bike ride away.
