Shikoku Saburo no Sato (Tokushima)
This campsite is in Nishi Awa, Shikoku’s natural water park. There are also showers and laundry facilities (additional charge). The area is best explored by car, and you can enjoy rafting and canoeing, hiking around the picturesque Iya Valley and paragliding. There is also a supermarket and home center for extra camping gear located five minutes by car.

Cotton Field Kamiyama (Tokushima)
This campsite is located walking distance from the center of Kamiyama Onsen town and several major temples. The nearby Akuigawa River is a popular place for ayu (sweetfish) and amego (salmon) fishing.

Ebisuhama Camp (Tokushima)
Watch sea turtles hatching and making their way back to the ocean at Ebisuhama Beach. This campsite is minutes away from the beach and is popular for swimming, sea kayaking and stand-up paddling. Campers can also enjoy the hot springs at White Light House Hotel a short drive away.

Kirinomori Kogen Camp (Ehime)
The refreshing highlands of Kirinomori Kogen attract paragliders from all over Japan. The campsite also offers panoramic views of the surrounding mountains from the 1,043-meter Shiozuka Plateau. Campers can enjoy hiking, mountain biking and barbecuing local game meat.

Kamegamori Daini Camp (Ehime)
This base camp is great for hikers aiming for the 1,982-meter Mt. Ishizuchi, western Japan’s highest mountain. The trailhead to the more relaxed Mt. Kamegamori is also located 10 minutes away.

Ehime Shinrin Park Camp (Ehime) – FREE
This campsite is one of the best free campsites out there. You can either pitch your tent or rent a bungalow (all free) and the bathroom and kitchen facilities are kept clean. There are plenty of hiking trails and lake activities as the campsite is between Mt. Tagami and Lake Ootani.

Shodoshima Furusato Village Camp (Kagawa)
Shodoshima is the “Mediterranean” of the east as it offers pleasant subtropical weather and is the top producer of Japan’s olive oil. Enjoy sea kayaking, fishing and other ocean activities Shodoshima has to offer or cruise around the island in the Mame Mobi, a small two-person car.

Auto Village Yoshida (Kagawa)
This campsite on the northwestern tip of Shodoshima provides easy access to Oyayubi Iwa, a 12-meter cliff popular with climbers. Guests can also receive discounts applicable for the Shodoshima Olive Park, Nijushi no Hitomi Movie Village, Marukin Soy Sauce Museum and Kankakei Ropeway.

Yamamizuki (Kochi)
This campsite overlooks the mouth of Shimanto River, known as the last crystal clear river in Japan. If you’re looking for some easy camping, enjoy luxury in the glamping tent and BBQ deck. There is a treehouse cafe for campers to relax and mingle, and also a public and private onsen. Access is tricky as there are no direct trains or buses to this location, so go by car or be prepared to walk for a bit. Nakamura Station, the gateway to the Shimanto River, is the closest major station.
