Every year the Japan Meteorological Corporation releases a forecast for when Japan’s famous sakura cherry blossoms are due to bloom. This year’s first forecast says that sakura will start to blossom in Tokyo as early as March 15. Mankai (full bloom) is expected at the end of March to beginning of April.
For sakura enthusiasts, there’s even an app called Sakura Navi (available for iPhone and Android) that shows you where to find blossoms around the country.
