One of the most characteristic things about summer in Japan are the hanabi taikai (fireworks festivals) held throughout the country. After a quiet 2020 summer, events are back with a bang in 2021. Here are several fireworks festivals happening this summer. Be sure to check beforehand as events may get cancelled or postponed.
