December 7th, 2019 marked the opening day of the Hanazono Niseko ski resort for the 2019-20 season. There was plenty of snow in the lead up so all three chairlifts and resort runs were operating. This season welcomes a series of exciting updates and events at Hanazono Niseko—don’t miss out!
Park Hyatt Niseko Hanazono Hotel and Residences

If you visited Hanazono last winter, you probably noticed the construction at the base of the resort. Opening January 20, 2020, these new structures are the home of Park Hyatt Niseko Hanazono, ski-in-ski-out luxury accommodation. The development overlooks the Hanazono base and beginner slopes and includes extensive new retail and dining options.

This swanky restaurant and bar is located near the Hana No. 1 chairlift and will be serving your Hanazono favorites all winter long. Split over two levels the new facility seats 529 people, increasing capacity by 60% over the resort’s previous restaurant. With floor-to-ceiling windows on three sides, the view of the resort and surrounding area are spectacular no matter where you sit.
Hanazono 308 Ski Center

Inside the fully refurbished Hanazono 308 you’ll find Niseko Sports Rentals and Retail and the lift ticket and activities sales counters. Niseko Sports Rentals and Retail store has expanded to include Niseko Boot Lab, the resort’s own custom boot-fitting facility (will also be available at Park Hyatt).
Families will enjoy letting their kids play at Galaxy of Kidz, an indoor adventure area and the only one of its kind in Niseko.
Hana1 Café
Hana1 Café continues to serve the same delicious coffee but has found a new home in a nice wood cabin.

Yotei Daiko is a part of the region’s cultural heritage. Its beats are inspired by the vast nature surrounding iconic Mt. Yotei and tell the stories of people’s lives in this snowy region. Performances will be held on:
- Feb. 2 at 1:00 p.m.
- Feb. 16 at 1:00 p.m.
- Mar. 1 at 1:00 p.m.
- Mar. 15 at 1:00 p.m.

The Hanazono Banked Slalom time trial race is held in the Hanazono quarter pipe and main park. Hand-dug banked turns are blended with the existing terrain park area to create a unique course for both skiers and snowboarders. Prizes are awarded to the fastest in each category. Participation costs ¥2,000.
Using a standard slopestyle format, skiers and snowboarders are judged on a full run through a special-built park at Hanazono Slopestyle. Bring your best tricks, as this competition attracts the best park riders from near and far. Big prizes will be awarded to the winners. Participation costs ¥2,000.
